Exhibition What’s Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones

Today we went to the Museum of Moving Image, Had a great time. Saw the Chuck Jones Exhibit, would have like to see a little more artwork, but still a great show. I never get enough of 2d animation. Seeing how details the background are and how they approach the artwork is still magic to me. =)

This type of Exhibits aways make my creative juices flowing, I have a few Warner Brothers how to animation books, Might have to take them off the shelves and go though them again.

Even though I haven't done much work in animation, I find that these old cartoons are still in the back of my mind when I'm working. Even on of our own Webcomics @the 8spot has an homage to the works of Chuck Jones.

As I was watching clips of some of the cartoons, The children in this museum, who some are watching them for the first time ,find them funny. There is something Timeless about Bugs Bunny!

or just it's just sometimes a good funny story transsend time?

We got there a little later then I wanted to, so we missed out on the movie they where showing, but check out the website they have a few movies directed by Chuck Jones.

Also the rest of the museum was good the Star Wars toy display can keep you there for hours! Remembering the ones you had and the ones you always wanted.

They also do a great job in taking you though the process of making movies, each part has it's own display, the script, the actors, the set designers, the costumes designers, makeup, music, etc. even the merchandising!

If your in New York and are a fan of the Looney Tunes, Chuck Jones, Or Animation you should check it out!
